AFAIK Chrome is Object Pascal, just for dotNET and Visual Studio, so this
isn't necessarily about changing languages but about switching to dotNET
and a different IDE. This might actually be a smart move it done
correctly, that is: Not doing a complete rewrite. Using a common framework
*could* allow switching over parts to other programming languages (C#)
much easier.
Also, considering the still uncertain future of Delphi (if not the tool
itself but the programmer base), going this way might be a smart move. It
might also become a disaster, depending on how it is done. But: Nobody
will ever be fired for using (was: IBM, now: Microsoft).
