I suppose because Anders Hejlsberg was a major influence on the design of the VCL and then went on to use that strong base to have influence on the design of the .NET framework. Things like the change from the database pattern data-aware UI controls to the ability to connect UI controls to properties of objects and the ability to use reflection instead of the rather imited RTTI that the VCL provided.
Joanna's TeamB role, was to promote C# builder, the thinging that got
killed only recently.
You and I and everybody else know that promoting C# means promoting
Visual Studio.
Not necessarily, I could also use SharpDevelop, especially if I want to target the Mono framework to develop apps for my shiny Macbook Pro - or shouldn't I be promoting OSs that don't support Delphi? ;-)
