The problem with all of that is that CodeGear has to take resources from somewhere and put them into cross platform. They've done this before and it didn't pay off. And trust me, there were *just* as many developers on the forums and newsgroups just clamoring for Linux support from Delphi.
Why now? Why is now the time? Is this the "year of Linux on the desktop"? I think not...
CodeGear is a small company with fixed resources. Is the majority of the Delphi developer community (keep in mind these forums represent the vocal majority) ready to sacrifice resources being committed to the Win32 product to satisfy the smaller percentage who wants to satisfy a *very* small percentage of their user base by providing Linux or Mac executables? Again, I think not.
