Why now? Why is now the time? Is this the "year of Linux on the desktop"? I think not...
IMO Win32 has been abandoned by MS, in favor of .NET. And many Windows users will not move to .NET or Vista, so the Linux market may become more interesting in the near future, than it was in the days of Kylix. AFAIK the missing acceptance of Kylix was due to the Windows (Wine) look of the IDE, not due to the exotic Pascal language. And most code for Linux then still was written in C, where nowadays a good C++ development system might be attractive, unless one is happy with Eclipse or another readily available IDE.
