No one forced you to install Vista and move your development system to it.
Of course not. I needed to be able to test on Vista, and since it won't run
on my current box, I bought a new computer with it installed. And since I
was about due to move to a more powerful development system, it made sense
to move everything to the new one, rather than just have this one box
sitting there for the sole purpose of testing my software on it.
Now I'm in the process of moving my old development system over to the new
box in a VMware virtual machine. Should have done that in the first place.

Even at those outrageous prices, next time you can afford to think before
you leap otherwise, as they say, "A fool and his money are soon parted."
:^)?
And the price of Delphi, in comparison, is a bargain. IMHO, I would be a
fool of the highest level to abandon Delphi for VS simply based on the
purchase price.
