Google has already done this. Adobe I believe has also helped the Wine project to get things like Photoshop CS running well.
By the way, Wine will release finally its 1.0 version soon (june or july).
I'm looking forward to it. Wine has improved by heaps and bounds over the last few years! Even thought I only develop under a Linux system (Windows in a VMWare session only), I still use a few Windows tools via Wine without any issues. Total Commander, Team Coherence, Beyond Compare 2 etc...
