"Hilton Evans" <IHateSpam@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote in message news:48485d83$1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxI'm amazed at how many car dealer websites that I visited
when I was car shopping that insisted I use flash and
endure their animation or movie to access their websites.
I largely eschewed their websites in favor of Edmunds.com
and test drives.
To its credit Edmunds.com has resisted giving the geeks
a chance to prove how "smart" they are.
I wouldnt blame 'geeks' for a decision that was likely made by a manager or salesperson at the car dealership.
I agree. That said webmasters do have a certain amount of freedom to
advise their clients on the value of offering an alternative to Flash-way or
the highway. More often than not when you hit a Flashturbated home page
you get an empty page and are told you need to download flash if you
want to get the 'full benefit of our content'. I would think car dealers wouldn't
want to drive some possible shoppers away just to make a techno-statement.
