As predicted by many of us in the pro "do it now" win 64 compiler
camp, they are predicting this fall PC season to be when 64bit is the
norm on most computers. I believe many of us where saying no later
then 2010. We were a year off. I hope the next version of Delphi
doesn't take 18 months to 2 years to get out the door. Delphi is
becoming more irrelevant every quarter.

Unless the majority of Delphi development is in Explorer shell
extensions, I don't think so. And funnily enough, the blog post you
cite suggests that the reason Vista 64 is finding success in the
marketplace is because it breaks RAM restictions whilst preserving
excellent compatibility with 32 bit programs, Explorer shell extensions
aside.
