Comport problem

Hi

I'm having problems with extra characters when my app reads data from a
comport. Instead of getting a correct string like '12345', I get '122345'.
Has anyone had this problem?

I'm using TurboPower's AsyncPro TApdComport component and I've tried
changing almost every setting I can find witout any luck.

I've tried both TurboPower version 2.58 and 4.06 and a more simple component
from WinSoft.
I get errors when I use my app, but I get no errors using Hyper Terminal.
I've tried on serveral computers. I get errors on one Win2K Server but not
on the other.
There's no system in how the extra characters occur, like every 8th
character, but the extra character is always the same as the last recieved.
I've tried changing the fifo speed (found it in device manager -> comX ->
port settings -> advanced...)

Please help if you can. It's driving me crazy.
