I'm looking to replace MS Access for an application I'm selling due to ADO
problems I'm having with some users and wanting to get rid of the having to
include ADO (large file) within my install. I want to be to ensure that my
application will run properly the first time, rather than running into
problems, which I know is costing me sales.
The application requires a simple single-user database with only 4 tables.
The main table could grow to have hundreds of records, whereas the other
tables are probably less than a hundred.
What I'm looking for is something that doesn't rely on ADO (or any other
Microsoft technology) or BDE but rather has a small footprint with either
database control embedded within the application or with few smaller DLL's
required.
Ideally, I would like a single database file. It would have to have the
standard functionality I can find with Access such as blob support, though
isn't so complex that it is going to take me a few months to figure out how
to use. It would also be nice if there was an easy migration path from
Access to it.
