RemObjects Software announces the beta version of the RemObjects SDK 3.0
Embedded

The RemObjects SDK 3.0 is the award winning remoting framework for Delphi,
Kylix and .NET. It allows you to remotely access objects residing on a
server from clients inside a LAN or across the Internet. It supports object
pooling, asynchronous invocation, compression, encryption, and a variety of
protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, UDP, POP3/SMTP, NamedPipes, etc. It includes
the RemObjects Service Builder and allows you to expose your services as
SOAP web-services.

== Introducing the RemObjects SDK Embedded. ==

Have you ever wanted to access a SQL Server from a microcontroller over the
internet? Have you ever wanted to use a PDA to exchange information with a
microcontroller? Now you can.

In today's world more and more microcontrollers are becoming Ethernet
enabled. The RemObjects SDK Embedded bridges the world of back office
systems and embedded controllers.

The SDK allows you to exchange information between embedded controllers and
back office systems, or between controllers, with a minimum of development
effort. It frees you from having to develop your own communication protocol
giving you access to most of the capabilities of the RemObjects SDK.

The Embedded SDK has a small footprint and the RemObjects binary message
protocol is used for fast processing and optimized network traffic.
Required client and server code is generated in Pascal or C by using the
Service Builder included in the RemObjects SDK. This allows you to focus on
your solution and link it to your services of choice.

== Looking for beta testers ==

We are looking for developers interested in testing RemObjects SDK 3.0
Embedded over the next couple of weeks. The first beta version of
RO/Embedded is available now, and focuses on implementing RO Clients using
the Turbo Pascal 7 based library. Support for the C based library and for
implementing Servers will follow in subsequent releases.

The target platform for the first beta is the RTOS of the BECK SC12 embedded
controller (http://www.beck-ipc.com/). Support for other controllers will be
added in the future. Please check our ROadmap regularly for more details on
the commercial release.

Requirements for the beta:

- RemObjects SDK for Delphi (a trial version will do)
- Borland Delphi 6, or 7, Kylix 3
  (for non-Embedded side only)

- Turbo Pascal 7, Borland Pascal 7 or Borland C++ 5.02

- A Beck SC12 chip with RTOS 1.04

If you are interested in testing RemObjects SDK Embedded, please contact
info@remobjects.com.
