Hi All,
Thanks for your comments. If I elaborate on my requirement maybe if some
can give their opinions.
I am writing an email alert system which automatically triggers emails based
on database dates etc. This will be incorporated into our commercial
applications which we sell to businesses. So in this case would it be wise
to use the method described (as suggested could be an issue due to blocked
ports etc), or would it be better to specify an smtp server (as is required
when setting up Outlook Express for example).
