Telnet components

Hi!

Does anyone know of any easy to use telnet components? I've got Indy and
iPro, but I can't figure out how either work. After connecting I receive
merely 1 line of garbage characters, and then, I don't receive anything
else. I can't even figure out how to set the user name and password. The
component seems to expect me to know the telnet protocol and to do it
all by hand, but this isn't very helpful...

Is there any simple way to launch a telnet session, perform certain
predefined tasks, and then disconnect, without there being any user
interaction at all?

Thanks!

Jonathan Neve.
