Hallo!
After switching from CodeRush to Castalia I'm missing the excellent
ActiveDBAlerter by Mark J. DuCharme. There seems to be a standalone version
of this tool from Marc Scheuner, but I cannot get in touch with one of these
authors. So I had to do it by myself:
Here is the mpsActiveDBAlerter as package distribution for Delpi 7.01
Professional/Enterprise/Architect:
http://www.mpscologne.de/files/mpsActiveDBAlerterBeta.zip
An IDE utility that searches for open datasets, dataconnections and their
descendants before each compilation and deactivates them.
Install the package in the Delphi IDE via Components->Install
Packages->Add->mpsActiveDBAlerter.bpl
You schould then see a "Active DB Alerter Options" menu item in the Tools
menu. At this time you cannot set any options (you see an info box instead).
If you do a compile (or build) run the mpsActiveDBAlerter will scan all
files in the project for open datasets, dataconnections and their
descendants and deactivates them. The edited data components will be listed
in the compiler messages window.
NOTE: THIS IS A BETA VERSION!
DATA LOSS CAN BE POSSIBLE!
USE AT YOUR OWN RISC!
I need beta testers as much as possible to give me feedback...
After beta testing I will release the source to public.
Greetings from Cologne
Robert
