Client-dataset-like components that work the same?

Hi,
In my recent testing, I've found TClientDataset to be _very_ slow
when fetching large resultsets (tens to hundreds of thousands of
rows). Never mind why I need this, it's just dead slow.
Am I wrong or doing something wrong?
If it is as slow as I think it is, are there 3rd party alternatives that
work the same, but don't suffer from the slowness problem?
