Sounds like you are begging for power supply / heat problems. :-)

If the monitors are spread over a larger area, you will get trouble with
  the signal quality. Perhaps it is less trouble if you use networked
cheap low-end PCs and update the displays using a client/server model.
Since you want to use Delphi for it, DCOM comes to my mind.
