All,
I've uploaded a bitmap-based PDF viewer and printer, which shows the
power of the SEDTech PDF toolkit for rendering. I'm a happy user of
their component and have wanted to write a PDF viewer for some time.
This is quick demo I put together last night.
Cons:
- Bit slow! (Needs background threaded rendering to speed things up)
- Does not decode PDF outlines properly in all cases
- Does not decode all PDF's
- No text selection tool
- No search (yet!)
Pros:
- 3Mb stand-alone EXE PDF Viewer/printer- views 80-90% of PDFs in my
testing
- Page text extraction
- Security remove/add (coming soon)
- Page extract (coming soon)
Requirements:
Windows XP
Windows 98/NT/2000 with GDI+
Download the 7-zipped EXE demo from
http://www.kbsoft.com/Files/PDFView.7z (1 Meg). See
http://www.sedtech.com for more information on this PDF toolkit.
If you have any questions or comments or would like the Delphi source:
keithb(_at_)eta(dot_)co(dot_)za. You will need Delphi 7,
DevExpressBars, JVCL 3, iSedQuickPDF and JCL 2 to compile!
Kind regards
Keith Blows
