John,
>Maybe they are..

Maybe they are, indeed. If so, as an example, please explain to
Lee Billows - in Chinese - the distinction between "revise" and
"resolve" just in case my attempt - in English - was insufficiently
clear. I doubt there would be any advantage in a similar explanation
in Spanish, French, German, or Latin - although, you never know.

I know that. Unlike Lee Billows and others on this forum, I am a
native English speaker, and conversant with emoticons. I can even
readily understand evolved expressions, such as "tongue-in-cheek" as
meaning "slyly humorous", and Latin words such as "ergo" as meaning
"hence" or "therefore". But, some, for whom English is a second,
third, or fourth language, might not (although continental Europeans
at least will be just as happy with the Latin as are English native
speakers). I believe we should be considerate of their added
difficulties in these forums.

I also know that. No one suggested it was, and the thought did not
cross my mind.

Likewise, I am not attacking you. My initial reaction was the same
as yours, and I very nearly sent a similar message - until it suddenly
occured to me that it might serve only to confuse or offend, rather
than amuse.
