"Simple" serial number library needed

Hi all,
I have a need to attach serial numbers to an application; usual
stuff - user enters it during the (InnoSetup) installation,
serial code gets validated and is available to the application
afterwards (e.g. stored in the registry).
I don't need anything fancy, I just want a keep a database of
users and serial numbers.
I'm sure I could write this myself, but before I do, is there
a solution available already?
