I am very familiar with IPWorks and have used it in the past and own
it. These days we write all our own socket libraries from scratch in
Delphi because nothing on the market is good enough. However, of all
the libaries for Delphi out there, IPWorks is the cleanest and easiest
to use.
Their licensing model is tied to "machine name" in Windows on Delphi so
as long as your machine name doesnt change you can move your copy from
machine to machine. I did that with 1 hard drive that was portable
from work to home.
My biggest gripe about IPWorks is that its core model is non-blocking
and single threaded, so I wouldn't use it for scalable server sockets
but its fine for point to point stuff.
