Tiriss released version 2.0 of CB4 Tables, its Delphi, C++Builder and
Kylix wrapper for using Sequiter's CodeBase Library as easily as the BDE.
The main difference with previous versions is support for (VCL for) .NET!
There is now also better support for using it in multithreaded (web)
applications and
a lot of other small improvements were made.
CB4 Tables is a set of components that can be used anywhere you want to
access
xBase (dBase IV, FoxPro or Clipper) tables using CodeBase in the same easy
way
as you are used to using the BDE.
TCB4Table (the TTable replacement of CB4 Tables) has almost all functions a
TTable has, and is developed to be compatible with TTable. CB4 Tables has
also
some extra functionality like smart recognition of expression tags and
better
scrollbar support for DBGrids.
The major advantages of CB4 Tables:
* No BDE install, but a DLL (Windows) or a shared object (Linux) sold by
Sequiter software inc.
* It uses the fast and proven CodeBase database engine.
* Compatible with the BDE, so it is easy to switch between the BDE and CB4
Tables.
* Compatible with all standard and third-party database components.
(TDataSet
descendant)
* Support for VCL for Win32 and VCL for .NET.
* Support for Delphi 5 - 2005, C++Builder 5 - 6 and Kylix 1 - 3.
* Extra functionality (not found in the BDE) like tag expression
recognition.
Pricing and Availability: CB4 Tables 2.00 is available from US$ 65 for a
single
developer version including source code (US$ 85 including .NET support).
Multiple developer licenses are also available.
More information and trial versions can be found on the Tiriss website:
