Okay, I can understand that "names" of the industry might be important for you. But what does that have to do with whether something is pre-installed?
Not for me. It's different if I say: "Oh, it works with Oracle"(just an example), instead of "Oh, it works with $NO_ONE_KNOWS_THIS_OUTSIDE_DELPHI".
Security policies are also different issue. Even if SQL Server were preinstalled you're still going to have to configure what type of security
I meant to say: would you as a SysAdmin cooperate to install a db server with no - or almost no - known security issues? I've been a SysAdmin and known issues are an *absolute* requirement for me. Because those *have* *patches*. Something "unknown" will rarely be patched security wise, that's my understanding.
