I had suggested to DevEx that they open up TcxGrid (and some of its sub-components) so that Link-Rank or any other customer could get into the drawing of the grids. I was told that there were no plans to expose the necessary methods/properties for overridden classes. A customer would need to modify core DevEx code to get the desired behavior.

I would love to ask Link-Rank to create a TVCLSkincxGrid. Except that I know it's impossible after hearing from DevEx.
