I found the lack of a prescribed and practical migration path from 2.5x to 3.0 especially annoying. Without going over old ground, it left me in an embarrasing and 'expensive to fix' situation with many of my users.

One customer wanted the FR3 features, so he funded the upgrade purchase for me. We finished up re-writing every one of his 200 reports from scratch. It was easier than saving an fr2.5 to fr3 format and then doing the edits. Now we're finding, like you, that FR3 is far from perfect.

ReportBuilder is looking good, especially if reports have to be re-written anyway.
