True.

A good advice, which comes in handy even if some post was actually meant as
a provocation.

I guess, I should have ignored the post from John McTaggart (I usualy ignore
such posts to avoid flaming, especially after having had quite a few long
non-productive discussions here), but I was just too curious (again) about
what has triggered such an unexpected response now, since I didn't think I
have provoked this response in any way. If it was meant to be a joke, it was
surely one on my account.

Since I generaly can't stand it when people weigh every word someone else
writes (or says), as if we are still in primary school learning correct
english, I felt like I had to react (even if I was defending myself against
someone who meant his post as a joke).

>From my point of view, the post from John McTaggart sounded just like
something an arrogant english teacher (who would find himself funny) could
have said in a class, after some student wrote a sentence on the Board which
wasn't 100% gramaticaly correct. Most of the class would probably laugh
about it, but that one student would wish himself burried ten feet under
ground, feeling quite humiliated.

In other words - I didn't find the post funny. And I guess that, if someone
else was in my place, he could have simply ignored the post and thought:
"what a jerk!". But I decided to ask John McTaggart to explain himself,
since I didn't want to accept that he simply make another "joke on me".
