ANN: RealThinClient SDK 1.7b > first Year's up, ready for the next ...

RTC components are based on one communication protocol and can be used in
any combination imaginable.

You can seamlessly combine your Web Application code (serving web content
and files to standard Web Browsers), with your Application Server code
(serving remote functions to RTC clients), running as a stand-alone server
(normal program and/or NT/XP Windows Service) and/or as ISAPI Extension
(under any Web Server supporting ISAPI). There's no need to write different
code for web servers and application servers, running as ISAPI extensions or
stand-alone servers. It's all one code with RealThinClient components.

RealThinClient SDK components are extremely stable
(www.realthinclient.com/tests.htm), work over HTTP to avoid proxy and
firewall problems, can be used in any application (even with other
frameworks), offer highly flexible components for writing and calling remote
functions (no coding interfaces, nor wizards needed, it's as easy as
assigning values to variables).

RTC remote functions support all native and complex data types, from a
simple boolean, through records/arrays/datasets/streams to any combination
of anything you need/want. If you can imagine a structure, you can send and
receive it using RTC remote functions (even nested remote function calls),
because formatting used by RTC is extremely flexible (any value in any
simple/complex structure can be of any type, from simple to complex). And by
using the built-in strong encryption, you won't have to depend on SSL or
HTTPS to ensure secure access to your Application Server over the Internet.

All Web Clients and RTC Clients can access your servers (stand-alone or
ISAPI) seamlessly from inside any LAN and over the Internet. No more
problems with proxy servers or firewalls. There's also no need to manually
configure clients, since they use standard IE settings to go through
proxies.
