It is our pleasure to announce the release of Resource Tuner Console v1.20
Resource Tuner Console is a tool that enables developers to automate editing
of resources in Windows executables. This command-line resource editor
allows using VBScript to create a repeatable process for updating and
customizing resources during the final stage of the build process, or at any
time you wish to make modifications of file version information on existing
Windows EXE or DLL files without needing to recompile the source code.
WHY TO MODIFY FILE RESOURCES?
During the compilation of a file, it's not always possible to set particular
values for some fields in the PE32 file structure. For example, the language
of some resources may differ, and you might want to set the language for all
the resources to one uniform value. In addidtion, you need change the
TimeDate Stamp and sets every field in the PE file header, export and
resource sections to the adjusted TimeDate Stamp. Finally, you might want to
swap the default main icon with a custom icon from an .ico file for a dozen
of resulted EXE's.
The program is well suited for integrating into your build system, and takes
the drudgery out of manual editing and repetitive tasks. All the
functionality of Resource Tuner Console is called from within your VBScript.
Resource Tuner Console fully supports Unicode and allows editing strings in
multiple languages, swapping icons, updating version information for
several hundred files at once, and more.
Sample scripts illustrated the new features can be found within the Resource
Tuner Console package. An evaluation version can be downloaded from
What's new and noteworthy in the version 1.20:
Runs on All Windows (95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP SP2/2003).
