Re: Data modelling tool - Seeking for recommendations

Hi Don,

Excellent Michael! But, the bad news is I downloaded the trial and cannot get it reverse engineer my Oracle 10g db. I tried using ODBC, ADO, and several drivers to import into the ORACLE8 target. Don't know if this is the best place to discuss this and I don't see forums on your site. I can detail the steps I took and the results here if you like or we can go to email when you return from vacation. My email is: dons at hammerpackaging dot com.
Your best bet on reverse engineering Oracle would be to extract
SQL script into file and then reverse engineer the script. This way you
should be able to get most information.
Using ADO you should be able to get tables, columns, indexes and possibly
relationships & views, depending on the capabilities of ADO Provider.
ODBC will only return you tables, columns and indexes.

Please, e-mail me if still have problems with this and unable to
get at least tables, columns & indexes.

Regards,
Michael

Thank you, Michael. That would be great. If you do that, you've definitely got yourself a new customer.
Nice to hear that ;). I've done it already today - took about 20
minutes as you may guess, however I can't release 2.09 until Aug 15th
... cause I'm going on vacation tomorrow for 1 week ;). Please
bear with us till mid August and you'll have it alone with few
more things.
