Problem nr. 1 is your Linux box. It doesn't allow you to install ISAPI
extensions. My wild guess is that your provider gives you PHP and MySQL

Is it possible to connect to the mysql tables with a desktop application
and add/delete/edit the mysql data with something.
If that Linux Box had a port open directly to the MySQL box, which I doubt,
it would be possible to use any MySQL client to connect to that database. If
it doesn't, then you need something installed on the Server-side to which a
client can send a request, which will make the Server connect to that MySQL
database, fetch the data you want and return the results back to the Client,
which your Client has to accept, parse and prepare for your viewing.
I'm stupid here, totally our of my league but logic tells
me there must be a way that is not too complex.
Well ... it is complex, but not impossible.
