our component can read MS Word documents only (including new .docx format
for MS Word 2007).
But you can't write documents...

(see the MS Word option on the left navigation bar) which can read and
write to word natively --
word need not be installed. I have not used it, but in general I think
that scalabium components
are well thought of.
