I would actually prefer to see "xyz" is typing their response. I
really don't want to see, or for others to see me, backspacing and
correcting errors. I remember this type of chatting from the old BBS
days and it can be annoying watching people type/correct, type/correct,
type....
I like to compose, review, and edit my response before I send it.
While the person on the other end might have to wait a little to see
any of my response, at least it appears (hopefully) as a single,
complete, and coherent thought.
