Yes, but ... Most of ODBC drivers have some specific things and bugs.
And not all DBMS features may be represented by ODBC API. That
means, that data access components must "know" DBMS to work with it really well. I dont know ODBCExpress, but probably it offers only high level API (VCL) to ODBC API. AnyDAC, for example, has
extended "knowledges" about each supported DBMS, including
Sybase ASA.
