do you need the component as visual editor? Or do you need the component to
store the pictures+texts?
If second then you may use the metafiles. This format is a list of "records"
and every record is a "command" for canvas (like change alignment, change
color, draw text, draw picture etc)
To store the metafile in database is not a problem at all

So all what you need is to find some editor for metafiles...

Hi,

I am looking for a component for D7 that allows a user to put text
together with graphics in the same canvas and to save the canvas to a
database. The graphics can be pasted in and may contain pictures,
equations, symbols and what not.

I would also like to incorporate a spelling checker for the text.
