I'm looking at those components now. It seems as though the approach
taken by Mitov is similar to the description from the Prof's components
people. And the price is right ;)

My problem is that I need to support connection to a COM server in
which all the functions are blocking, and a few can take a very long
time to complete (one takes up to 20 seconds!) But besides the
threading, I have to interface to the events the server provides, and
am not at all sure how big a swamp I am diving into.
