Hi David,
Maybe I can take these questions.
Basic version is free - see:
http://www.gnostice.com/print2edocDownload.asp
Nice interface too.
Cheers,
Kim.
Thanks for the information, but I wasn't really interested in the
interface. I asked:
- does the product really come in a box?
No, we don't ship physical boxes at this time, but we do ship CDs on
request. We will ship boxes in the future. The box image represents the
logo/graphic for the product and this seems to be very common across
vendors.
- what does the product do which the free ones don't?
I've mentioned a few items here, but a more detailed list can be found at:
http://www.gnostice.com/print2edocFeatures.asp
* More formats JPEG, BMP, EMF, WMF (more in Pro)
* Does not require GhostScript (some free ones do), which is actually not
free for commercial use
* Support for output resolution from 100 dpi to 1200 dpi for PDF (not all
free ones do)
* Document Creation Profiles for easy management and reuse of preferences
(not all do)
* Preview and enhance document in document Preview / Designer before
creation (more in Pro)
* Enhance output PDF documents to full-fledged fillable forms (in Pro)
* PDF: Automatic conversion of URLs in content to clickable hyperlinks
* PDF: Support for appending and inserting to existing PDF document (in Pro)
* Define Text and Image based Watermarks and associate to Document Creation
Profiles
* Watermarking: Specify pages to place Watermark on
* Watermarking: Text: Set text, position, font, fill color and rotation
* Additional Actions: Email, FTP, NNTP, Launch Applications (some only in
Pro)
* Tight MS Office integration: "One-click" conversion from Microsoft Word,
Excel and PowerPoint
* MS Word: Convert Headings, Bookmarks and Hidden Bookmarks to PDF Bookmarks
* MS Word, MS PowerPoint: Convert Hyperlinks, Table of Contents and Endnotes
/ Footnotes to PDF Links
Hope that helps.
