Question about WinLicense

Hello,
When an application is protected with WinLicense, does it have a significant
impact on performance? If so, are there particular applications where this
is the case, say, a high performance tcp-ip application that recieves many
requests per second?
Or is the protection executable "external" to the internal execution of the
code.
This topic is new to me, so I apologize in advance for dumb questions.
TIA,
-d
