Also Burroughs B series (mid to late 60's, early 70's). Called it BCD
(binary coded decimal)

A/B called 'zone bits'.
Ah, I do remember BCD, though it was during the time when I despised
computers, and did all my engineering work with a slide rule and graph
paper. Didn't get into the swing of productive use of computers till the
IBM PC arrived on the scene in the early 80s. And the rest, as they say, is
present day....
