Yes, I know.
Must have the source somewhere, but I have to write the installer myself
for this particular aplication.
It has to do a lot af system checking and must decompress according to the
the result of the system check.
It also has some custom encryption methods for some files.

Have you looked at InnoSetup - it is pretty small for an installer.

I need to write a self-extracting installer for a specific application.
the resulting exe should be as small as possible.
