moving SelStart on right click in TRichEdit

if the caret is at the end of text in the richEdit and i click with
lift mouse buttne, the caret moves to the appropriate position, but if
i click with right mouse button, it doesnt move!

i need to move it, because the state of popupMenu attached to that
RichEdit is changed according to the selection, but the selStart is
not updated on right click, before the menu to popup.
