Hi, all !
I'm building a simple temperature logger for connecting to the LPT port
("modern" ECP). I'm planning for max. 8 sensors (type SMT160-xx), so the
parallell port seems easiest. The sensors are working on 5V (0.2 mA) and
produce 1-4kHz square wave with a variable duty cycle (=value indicating
temperature).
I have found myself a driver and wrote a test application in Delphi. But
when I watch the signal from the sensor using an oscilloscope, it can't pull
the low level low - min. value is some 3V (disconnected from LPT it works
fine). Current draw is no problem, as I borrowed 5V from the USB port to be
sure this is not a problem.
Q: Do I have to set the port to take input instead of producing output (I've
been using Data0 line) ?
Thanks in advance !
