Can't we keep this at an 'academic' level ?

A spot of deep level research into how Borland have latched onto
Windows SEH mechanism is pretty interesting
- but hardly a matter for a Jihad

I don't really understand why Laura wants something like the old DOS
Int 24h (Abort, Retry) handler - but it is no skin off my nose

Personally I am deeply nervous of Exceptions, and always try to code
round anything I think might cause an error, rather than rely on
exception handling.
I also don't trust myself to safely unravel resources using
Try/Finally - perhaps in trivial cases but not in a deep nest of stuff

Earlier Bjørge, you said, why bring down an entire App because of a
problem in a Report Generator ?
- my view is that one cannot be sure that one does not have mangled
memory that will propogate further 'phantom' errors.

We all have different coding philosophies, and round here we have a
(laudable) tendency to preach our own Gospels

It might be better for all off us to tolerate disparate views
- the alternative is .... boredom
