So that was YOU!!! Now I know your name also.
Back in the eighties, I had a few day trip to Oslo, and popped in to one
small TV-shop to check the new VCR-models while waiting for my train.
I was just checking and wondering how sharp still videos the new
Betamax-videomachines with 3 videoheads could show. At that phase came
in a huge 6 ft 3 in, 240 lbs blond haired salesman, having on his head a
helmet with two 30 centimeter cow horns. He stood at the only doorway
out and growled: "Hey yo, I heter Borge, I say yo buy now onne of these
things", and pointed with his thumb on one of those heavy looking boxes
on the desk.
I first laughed and thought it was a light joke. But then I looked two
seconds too long to the seller's staring, ice blue eyes. I soon realized
that I am not going out of this shop un-injured, if I am not going to
buy that box now, what ever it then may contain.
I am not sure if it was an Altos or ABC80 computer. Yes, it sure was
ugly, but to me it was a very good machine anyway. It always worked just
as I had expected. It both saved my life, and the machine also newer got
broken. Even though it was stored in my damp garage for the next 10
years:)
