most of the responses quite covered all the area's, just wanted to make
one point sharper.
the registry is like folders and files, you should be afraid to touch
the registry if you'r afraid to
touch the file system, you should add your software program under HKEY
CURRENT USER\Software
and make a key named as your program. now anything you do can not harm
the registry, cause your dealing with stuff you already added, so why
should you be afraid.
