To the OP
- why does the spec require Registry entries ?
Can't you explain to the person who wrote the spec that using the
registry as some sort of database is a thick idea
- the sort of thing that MS would come up with
Also - you backing up and restoring the Registry is more likely to
shaft a system than you zapping a few things you should not.
Suggest a simple file association to find your EXE using
FindExecutable, from then on use INI files
.
