there is almost no benefit distinguishing a 1 meg app from a 1 byte
app ( _almost_ )
But there's a lot of difference between a 1 meg application and a 2 meg
application - under Delphi 6, my application can no longer be distributed
on 1.44mb floppy disks :(
You get problems near boundaries , differentiating 100 vs 200 byte apps
makes no sense with 512 bytes sector/clusters on a floppy.
a 14 or 32k 'hello world' is a longlong way from even a floppy and little of
use can be inferred from the difference.
Even 14k vs 500k doesn't tell you much.
of course there are uses for floppies
they may be slightly cheaper for P&H
recordable cd or dvd , each about the same cost..about the same as one
floppy
500 and 3500 times cheaper ( per byte)
a floppy needs a minute to format and a minute to write and a minute to read
a cdr is about 200 times faster per byte to produce and read
production for pressed cd/dvd, even cheaper
floppies are _so_ 20 years ago :-)
( back when they were $10 a disk for a 720k in 1986 1k was worth what
10 meg on cd or 70 meg on dvd is worth now )
