I do have JCL Components installed but where do I find the class
TJclVersionFileInfo ?

Have your tried using the JCL Components from the Projet Jedi? It has a
class called TJclVersionFileInfo which accepts the name of the executable
as parameter in the constructor. Within the class is a property called
BinFileVersion which returns the version number.
I use this method for my shareware application.
