I've installed the latest drivers for the computer. Unfortunately I installed an OEM version of Vista. Can get no support from MS or Dell. Since it is a laptop I can not change the keyboard.
Anybody any suggestions ? If not a solution, then maybe an explanation for this behaviour.
Perhaps as you're typing your thumb or palm is brushing against the touchpad below the space bar. I think most laptop BIOS configuration programs let you disable the touchpad altogether. The mouse control panel might have some way for you to adjust the sensitivity. I think some brands even have a feature that tells it to ignore events from the touchpad while you're typing.
