Component for reading DNG files

Hello!

I have been searching for a few days for a component capable of reading DNG (Digital Negative) files without any luck.

Does anybody know about a preferrably free (as in beer) component with source that is capable of reading such image files? In reality I only need to read some of the metadata from these files and the preview image, not the whole thing and I will not be writing to them.

As far as I understand DNG is nothing else than TIFF with some extensions but the TIFF readers I have looked all stuble when trying to open a DNG.
