Re: Turbo Delphi 2006: keyboard problem

I use Turbo Delphi 2006 under Vista on a laptop.
I like it (except for the Help, which includes items for other languages as
well) as I like D6.
But I have one problem that bothers me no end: every now and then the
keyboard settings change and input of punctuators gets messed up. A quote
will become a plusminus and that sort of thing. D6 under XP did this as
well, but only rarely and I can then change the XP language settings back to
EN to solve it. With Turbo Delphi 2006 in combination with Vista I am not
able to do that. The only solution is to exit the IDE and restart it.
But it happens dozens of times per day ...

Can you explain what causes this behaviour, and then maybe: what solves it?
TIA
Tom

I suppose you have a non US Vista version (probably Dutch?).
XP (and I guess Vista) by default then installs two international
settings, one with US international keyboard and one with (for
example) NL keyboard.
Some applications tend to (for no apparent reason) then switch
international and therefore keyboardsettings (at least MS Office does
this).
If you can do without the other keyboard layout/settings, just
eliminate them completely, so you remain with only one combination of
language and keyboard setting.

Also there is some shortcut for switching keyboards and maybe delphi
uses this shortcut also?

Hope this helps in any way.
