This is an *international* NG, not restricted to English.

Yes, this IS the international newsgroup! And common worldwide
international officialese is English not German or French.

At the same time this is also the official English speaking newsgroup,
as there are no other Delphi newsgroup for the good ol' England.

There is also a bunch of national Delphi newsgroups there, and you can
speak your question out in your favorite non-english dialect:

Germany news:de.comp.lang.delphi.misc
Spain news:es.comp.lenguajes.delphi
Russian news:fido7.ru.delphi
Italy news:it.comp.lang.delphi
Japan news:japan.comp.lang.delphi
Poland news:pl.comp.lang.delphi
Yugoslavia news:yu.prog.delphi
Han China news:han.comp.devtools.delphi
Hungary news:hr.comp.programiranje.delphi
Norway news:no.it.programmering.delphi

Most *answers* will come in English, also understandable to
other members, but the questions can be posted in any language.

Well of course French is the only language one is able to use in
Internet, then French it is also in this newsgroup.

In TV news I have seen enough of those determined French tractor, truck,
egg, milk, cod etc. strikers pouring something on the streets. I do *not
want* to get million agitated programming skilled frenchmen starting to
bombard my IP-address:)

I don't know about the current state of such translators, the results
were very poor in the past. At least it's strongly suggested to retain
the original (untranslated) text.

They are actually quite good when translating programming specific
questions. You can even translate Russian or Chinese www.pages to
English, and you may get quite usable and readable Delphi links,
snippets and tips on your screen.

Many people will understand questions asked in other than English
language, e.g. in their own language, and can translate questions better
than any automaton.

Poor Americans are only able to speak English and almost as poor
Frenchmen only speak French. If you _have_ to speak German or French or
Lithuanian in this specific newsgroup wel then you have to do so.

I still do not think this newsgroup will get more traffic and get _more
visitors_ even if 30..50% of the messages start to be written in some
other language than English. Viva la France und Viva la Allemagne.
